These are blue shiso seeds harvested from my own garden last year.
Many have already sprouted in the field this year from fallen seeds.

As these are harvested seeds, I have not yet confirmed germination in pots this year, so germination is not guaranteed.

When weeding the field, the refreshing scent of shiso spreads and it feels very pleasant.

Insects are attracted to blue shiso, so it is also used as an insect repellent and trap for surrounding vegetables.
Last year, I planted them along the rows of watermelons and cucumbers, and they grew healthily without any diseases.

By the end of summer, the stems grew so large they became woody.
